White Peony tea is a slightly stronger style of white tea. Rather than carefully picking only silvery Spring buds, Shou Mei is picked later in the season and uses older leaves, often with little care put into removing the stems.

This gives it much more obvious flavor range, with many connoisseurs comparing it to wulong teas. When brewed carefully, according to the directions, the subtle sweetness characteristic of white teas, with added floral and fruity notes, makes Shou Mei a must-try for any white tea enthusiast.
