Blooming Flower Teas consist of a bundle of green tea leaves hand tied to flowers. Our blooming teas include chrysanthemum, jasmine, and amaranth flowers.
After the tea leaves and flowers are tied together they are steamed and pressed together. They will hold their balled shape until submerged in hot water. Once placed in a glass of hot water the ball will bloom out, making the tea leaves appear to be an extension of the flowers.
Our blooming teas are fresh, have no added flavors, and only require a short steep (about 30 seconds). To get an evenly flavored drink, be sure not to oversteep any tea, and remember that they can be resteeped several times.
Once all flavor (and color) has been extracted from the flowering tea ball, it can be resteeped in cold water and used as a centerpiece for a few days.
